Scared - Enlarged lymph node for 2 1/2 yrs, dr said ok, now not - Lymphomas Message Board

I went to a surgeon two years ago and was told that my lymph node in my groin was abnormal but not to worry about it, not abnormal enough? It has grown and I was sent to another surgeon who is "concerned" about it and sent me to get an ultrasound yesterday. At the ultrasound it showed up as simply a black hole in the background of white tissue. It is fairly large and I am extremely nervous. My aunt has lymphoma and
I am very afraid. Could this be something other than lymphoma by the ultrasound?

Hi,
What does your surgeon say it is?
They may just be doing the "watch & wait" thing, because if it was something that required urgent measures, I'm sure they would've told you something along that line.
Try not to fret too much.
I speak from experience....it does no good.
Just stay "on top of it," and seek out the answers you need. Don't be afraid to "demand" some answers. That's what they get paid for.
