grandfather gots cancer - Lymphomas Message Board

hello guys and ladies,
I am a regular here on another topic, but here recently found out my grandfather has stomach cancer and underwent surgery, they removed 65 percent of his stomach , a cyst on his liver which was negative and some lymphnodes which came back postive. doc says he needs to start chemo once he recovers from surgery and thats about it... what does this mean when its in your lyphnodes, is it all over his body or just stomach area. anyone have anything similar

Cancers quite often spread to the nearby lymph nodes and this determines the staging of the cancer. My husband had rectal cancer four years ago and it had spread to several nearby lymph nodes but not to any other organs. Treatment plans are determined by the staging of the cancer. I wish your grandfather well.
