need some info on heredity issues w/NHL - Lymphomas Message Board

I have just learned that my aunt has NHL. The scary thing is that my father passed away 14 years ago from NHL. What is the chance that both of them getting NHL in their 40's is coincidence? And should I be worried about my chances of getting NHL?

from what i have read, although they are still unsure of the exact cause of lymphoma, they dont know if it's genetic or environmetal factors, there is not an increased risk to any offspring having the disease but there is a slight increased risk for siblings. again, they dont know if this is due to genetics or the environment.
