Just wondering as my Dad had this around age 51 but succumbed to all the recurrences of Hodgkins from the Chemo at age 56.Ironically I had Testicular cancer Stage 1 at age 30 which was 8 years ago.I don't worry about it but it does enter my mind at times.
they believe that if there is a genetic cause then siblings have a 1% increased chance of developing the disease but as far as i'm aware no other relatives have the increased risk. however, they also don't know if it envvironmental and if it is then chances are most people were brought up in the same area/house as their siblings so if something in the environment has been the cause then it could is likely to be the same for the sibling.
Hodgkins is 1 of those cancer's that there is no clear answer why some people get while others don't.It still is one of the most curable kinds of cancer's out there even though it wasn't for my Dad.

What was your dads work enviroment? Was he around certain chemicals?? Just wondering if there is anything we can put together...
research has shown that hodgkin's is not hereditary, though it is very common amongst siblings. in my experience, my mother and my aunt (her sister) both had hodgkin's,and were both diagnosed at the same time.
