I'm 23 and have had painful Lymph nodes under my arm pit off and on for 2 years.

It usually comes and goes, but when it is present, they are hot and painful. My doc said it was from the spray deodorant that I was using, and I got on antibiotics, and it went away for a couple of weeks, then came back, but it is alot better than it was. I have very sensitive skin and acne problems, along with terrible allergies.

Every now and then I will feel a short sting in my throat lymph nodes, but it goes right away usually. The armpit ones are the ones I have trouble with. I have put off going to the dr, because other than this, my life is great. I am about to get married and we want to start a family. I have a doctors appointment earlier today, and I have honestly never been more scared. HIV isn't possible, because I haven't had sex. I was told that most of the time Lymphoma releated nodes are painless, and mine definitely aren't painless, but I am still afraid. I had blood work done a year ago due to bronchitis and everything came out fine.

I have allergies so bad that sometimes I hack so much that I throw up. This is mainly in the mornings, when I have been laying down. I had a rash on my neck, but I think that was due to a new laundry detergent. I currently have some pain in my neck, but I put alot of strain on it because I have a job where I sit all the time, and am on the computer alot. I haven't lost any weight, I rarely run fever, I don't have night sweats, and I eat alot. I have been dreading today for a long time. Do you all have any idea on what could be wrong with me? Back when I was using the spray deodorant, my armpit hurt so bad, that it would hurt to move it, so I would spray it on like 5 or 6 times a day to cool it off, then it would end up hurting even worse. Like I said, they have gotten significantly better since the antibiotics, but I still have trouble with them. I also have a bad tooth.

I would like to add that a few weeks after I kissed a girl, that I didn't know very well the nodes in my neck/throat were swollen and hurt, then they went away and ever since then I have had the off and on armpit pain. I wonder if this could be a reoccuring mono thing? I've never been tested for mono. But it wouldn't last this long would it?

In general, lymphoma causes steady, progressive and painless enlargement of the lymph nodes. If yours hurt, and go up and down, that sounds like they are reacting to something, like a lingering virus. When I was at Uni, a couple of decades ago now, one of my friends had glandular fever, which causes him to drop out and repeat the year. Symptoms got worse when he was stressed, e.g. coming up to exam time. Think it lasted about two years altogether. His nodes went up and down, and he would get hit by fatigue and sleep 18 hours or more. Mono is easy to rule out, so I'd get it checked.

I went to dr and both he and the nurse felt of my armpits, and looked at them and both said I do not have swollen lymph nodes. Due to my severe allergy problems, I have atopic dermatitis, an allergy skin disorder. He said my lymph nodes were not swollen whatsoever and he told me that its a waste of money to take a blood test, because I have no type of infection.

Well if you have been checked over and have been told that it is not your lymph nodes that are swollen, I would take that as a reason to feel reassured that it's unlikely to be either of the things you are worried about. If symptoms persist, and you feel you are not getting any joy from your current team, you can always request a second opinion.
