Soft pea size lymph node

Hi I'm 30 years old and have had a soft pea size lymph node on the left side of my neck for at least four years, it is a out 1-2 inches above my collar bone. I have been to a ENT and he said it was about 1 cm and it was nothing to worry about, I recently have been really concerned because a co-worker had a lympth node on the left side of his neck the size of a large pea and following a biopsy he was diagnosed with NHL. I don't want to over react and keep bothering the doctors if nothing is wrong. Please give me advise that may help with my fear of lymphoma.

Re: Soft pea size lymph node

I am not an expert/doctor or anything but from researching the topic of lymphoma, because I've been afraid that I have had it, it doesn't really sound like the disease. However, do you have any other symptoms besides the swollen lymphnode? Is it hard and matted, or soft and moveable? Is it tender/painful or painless? Is it growing?

Again, I am not a doctor, but if you have had this lump for four years, with no other symptoms, I don't think you should really worry about it. But if you are really concerned, I would say get another opinion. Also, are you constantly poking, touching, or feeling the lump, because excessively touching the swollen lymphnode could prevent it from returning to normal size!

I hope this helps!
I'll keep you in my prayers!
