I am having a biopsy on some lymph nodes in my abdomen tomorrow, what can I expect? It is gonna hurt?

That depends on the procedure. If it is a needle biopsy, that's minimally invasive, and probably not too painful. If it's a laparoscopy, that's considerably more invasive, and involves them putting air into the abdomen. Bit sore for a couple of days. If it's a full laparotomy, that's quite a big operation, and you will be sore for a couple of weeks.

I imagine it's a needle biopsy if they are not admitting you for a few days, so minimal discomfort.

It is a needle biopsy. Will I be able to return to work the next day, or should I take it off?

Well, needle biopsy didn't go so good, they couldn't get one. Now I am scheduled for a Laparotomy on Tuesday and won't get the results untill my appointment with the oncologist on the following Monday. Why should something so important take so long. It will be the longest 6 days of my life. Do you think if it does show cancer, that they will get a hold of me before then or will they make me wait? Sitting at home for 2 weeks to recover will drive me nuts. What am I going to do?
