Night sweats, enlarged spleen, borderline enlarged liver
My endo sent me to see an oncologist b/c he doesn't think the night sweats, bruising, and weight loss is associated w/ my thryoid anymore. The onc. thinks it most likely is endocrine related but wanted to run a few tests to make sure, mostly because of the 20 lb weight loss and drenching night sweats. My chem panel came back fine except for low CO2 (it was 18, range was 22+) and she also ordered an abdominal u/s because I have an enlarged lymph node in my groin and upper left quadrant pain. It seems my spleen is enlarged and my liver is borderline enlarged. Kidneys, gallbladder, bladder, etc. all look fine. She is sending me for a CT scan w/ contrast of my chest, abdomen and pelvis on Thursday. My primary mentioned that sometimes autoimmune disease can enlarlge a spleen? My monospot was neg. I am worried about lymphoma now, but hoping for a clean CT. Any thoughts? I am 28 years old and a mother of 3 young kids, otherwise very healthy. My dad has lymphoma (T cell) and my mom had colon cancer a few years ago. My cbc is normal.
