| Newbie Support Please
My finacee was just diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Originally the doctor said it was Stage 2, but after his PET Scan results from yesterday he's been changed to Stage 3 due to something showing up in his chest and spleen. He will start Chemo on Thursday, and they are saying every other week for 12 weeks.
This is all so confusing....I have no clue how to help him get through this. I have read so much stuff over the past week, and it's so complicated.
For starters, is he going to be able to drive himself to treatments? Is he going to be able to work at all, or should he plan on taking a leave of absence? Are there occassions where all the treatments may not be needed if there is improvement sooner?
I want to be supportive, but I feel so helpless. I just started a new job a week ago, and there is no way I can take time off. I feel so stuck.
Any information or feedback will be greatly appreciated. I realize everyone's journey is unique...I just want to hear from people who know first hand.
Thanks
