Seek another opinion?
Hello and I apologize now for the length of this post. I'm just hoping someone will reply with a little advice. First a little background. I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2004. I was treated for a couple of years with antibiotics.
My concern is swollen lymph nodes that I have had for a long time. I have two in my groin (one on each side), on in my elbow (right arm) and also behind my knees (both). All are moveable. The largest one is my right groin. The ones in my knees are elongated and my elbow is maybe the size of a pencil eraser. They all feel somewhat squishy, I guess. The ones in my groin have been there for at least four years. The one in my elbow at least two and not sure about my knees.
I asked Lyme doc about them several years ago before I found elbow and knee. Asked my family doctor several times. They both say that I have a chronic, systemic infection, which is Lyme. I just can't shake the concern of Lymphoma, especially now that I read about the slow growing type.
My question is should I press for further tests? Not too many Lyme patients have had this issue for as long as I have. Grew more concerned after developing this strange, prickly itch all over that comes and goes. Hope someone will respond. Thanks!
