| can't stop worrying about lumps
Hi! i'm hoping for some advice. I just registered today in the hope that i might stop worrying!
About a week ago I noticed a lump each side of my neck under my jaw. About an inch in from jaw joint and about an inch down from my jaw line. its quite large and not painful and so i don't know if it could have been there for a lot longer. i went to the dr this morning as i was so worried. she said she couldn't feel any of my glands and what i was feeling was probably my carotid sinus. i went away all happy with that and very relieved. but i think i now feel what she means by my carotid sinus, which also has a pulse, so now i'm worried that she's missed it! i think if you press hard you don't feel what it is i'm feeling. if you press lightly you can feel the outline which is as big as a large grape. spoken to my parents on the phone and they said they can feel something in that area. but i'm not near them to know how big theirs is or what it feels like.
does anyone else have lumps where i'm talking? if its not a lymph node then what is it?! i've a friend who is a gp and she said its quite easy to feel for enlarged nodes so if the dr couldn't feel it its probably ok. just wondering what the heck these little lumps are.
