Unhappy Freaking out. Lump in chin, please read on!

I noticed a lump in my chin several weeks ago. I was ill at the time so didn't think twice about it, only a few days ago I randomly ran my hand over the same spot and discovered it was still there.

To give you an idea, the area it is is where the second arrow is pointing in this picture:
http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/imagepages/9833.htm

It's:
- Moveable
- About the size of a walnut
- Keeps changing size
- Feels oval
- Smooth
- Painless

Also, that aside I think I feel several smaller bumps on the side, but I don't know if that's meant to be there. I don't feel anything, don't feel ill, no sore throat. I am going to the doctors, but until then I just need a heads-up. I like to know what might be going on, so any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like an enlarged lymph node. You mentioned you were sick at the time it started. With what? It is possible it could be mono, as that virus causes rather large nodes that persist a few weeks after the infection syptoms subside. You can get mono blood tests done to see if it is a possibility. If mono tests are negative, and it has been over one month, a gbiopsy may be recommended just to be on safe side. A CBC would be helpful too.

It was some kind of bug. I was throwing up, had flu-like symptoms and so on, but that was way over one month ago . I'll see what my doctor says, I'm walking past the surgery today so I'll nip in and make an appointment

I haven't had it yet, it'll be on Tuesday so I'll fill you in then

I have found out that there are in fact two lumps though, plus a third in the side of my neck, just above my shoulder... I'm trying to not freak out too much though until I see the doctor.

I saw the doctor, and he had a feel and said he actually felt more lumps. I'm going for a full blood count in a couple of weeks, and he said to go back if they change size/shape.
