I went to see a haematologist last month as my doctor referred me because of an enlarged cervical lymph node and me feeling very unwell. The specialist did a number of blood tests which included:
FBC, bone profile, folate, ferritin, B12, kidney and liver function, thyroid, ESR, peripheral blood film, paraprotein, immunoglobulins, Lactate dehydrogenase.
I was just wondering how long they take to get back to the haematologist. I've have been waiting 5 weeks now (including weekends). I am from the UK and the NHS do take longer, but surely it can't take this long?
Also after my first appointment he said my follow-up appointment is in 3 months, so I'm thinking maybe he isn't going to contact me and is planning to discuss the results when I see him instead?
Thanks in advance.
