Anybody here take Premarin? I've taken it for several years, and, overall, I'm satisfied with the results in terms of it helping mood, hot flashes, etc. However, I'd like other opinions such as do you think it makes you gain weight, have you tried anything else such as hormone creams that you like better? My GYN appt. isn't until early August and I plan to discuss the issue then, but normally their take on the matter is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'm just disgusted with some stubborn pounds that won't come off as well as concerned with the Premarin. Thanks!

I use to take Prempro, Premphase and I had to quit taking them because my cholesterol went up. I have to take the progesterone since I still have a uterus. Combipatch was my next choice but the progesterone in it did not agree with me. I am now trying Climara Pro transdermal patch. It has a different kind of progesterone that is suppose to be more tolerable. I am postmenopausel. Started hotflashes when I was 44. Boy was that an awful pain in the___! Was diagnosed with graves disease in 2002. That is under control anyway. I tell you I have tried the natural methods of hrt like black cohosh. But, it is just not as good as the prescription stuff. If this doesn*t work, I will try something else. I like to feel young and energetic. I am 50 years old. Wish I could just take the estrogen.
