Question Foods and night sweats

Hello everyone, Like a few others around here I am posting for my mother

My mother is 53 and believes that she is starting menopause since she missed her period last month and has had pretty bad night sweats and hot flashes. She is a heavy coffie drinker and was noticing that on nights when she DIDNT have any (she had a ice tea instead), she didnt have any night sweats. Are there foods/things to aviod during this time?
Any advice on things to do and (or) eat to help her through this "fun" time?
Thanks very much everyone!

YES! STAY AWAY FROM SUGARS, CAFFEINE, HOT FOODS (BUT YOU HAVE TO EAT THEM HERE AND THERE, SO GET SOMEWHERE COOL) Keep the room temperature at a decent temp during the winter, not hot and during the summer, the air conditioner and a fan, LOL Also eating spicey foods, high carbs will set off night sweats and hot flashes. Hope this helps.

Andrea
