Question Anyone tried Fosamax?

I had a hysterectomy about six weeks ago. Ny doctor told me to talk a calcium supplement. I took those viative chews and choked, then got some calicium vitamin pills to swollow but those tore up my stomach. I had an appointment today and she put me on Fosamax once a week. Has anyone had any of these problems? Also how does the Fosamax do? Good? Bad? Thanks
