Hi,
About a month or so ago, I posted here about my irregular menstrual symptoms and how I was going to the gyn to find out if it was something serious or not.
So far, I've had pap smear and a transvaginal u/s (which I never got results from since almost a month ago, I'm assuming no news is good news.) The pap smear was negative, which is a relief because I'd been diagnosed and treated for HPV in my twenties.
I have a follow up appt with my gyn next week to discuss my options.
I'm only 37. She thought I was too young for peri, until I explained that everyone in my family seems to go through symptoms early on.
Then she just said that if I want to get pregnant at all (I don't have any children,) I'd better get a move on, but didn't confirm or negate that I'm perimenopausal. ( I did have blood hormonal studies, but nothing jumped out at her.)
I certainly feel the insanity, I can tell you THAT much!
Forgetfulness, moodiness, bloating, hot flashes, palpitations, difficulty sleeping, irregular periods that come 21-35 days apart and last from 3 to 12 days. NUTS!
But it was a comfort to be able to come and post here and see that I'm not alone. What a blessing you've been to me in my time of need.
Thanks so much, and keep up the great work!
Suz
