Sent saliva test - Menopause Message Board

Well I sent in a saliva test Thursday. I hope I get a better understanding as to what my hormones are doing. Mainly wanting to know if I have low progesterone. One thing I notice is the lower my body temperature is the fatter I get. On past reports I was reading it has my weight a temperature. Just5 years ago my regular body temperature was 99.2 and the weight will be there next to the temp which was much lower than now. My recent reports my temperature is running 97.5 I have had thyroid checked and its normal.

I have done several saliva tests in the past and found them more accurate then blood tests. I am doing some for adernals and thyroid and also doing the hormones again to see where I am at now. I have a friend who is a Dr. of Chinese medicine who reads them for me when they come in.
Anyway,good to hear someone else is doing them too!

Who reads your tests results?

Hi Armadillo Pie,

My saliva test was done by a lab in CO and came back with a printout of all the readings, correlated with the symptoms I had reported and a narrative describing what the different readings meant. The compounding pharmacy which sent me the test to begin with, then contacted both my Dr. and me and discussed the dosages they recommended to start with. I've had several phone calls with the pharmacist who deals with the bio-identicals since then. I will be having another saliva test next year to find out how my body is processing the ones I'm getting and if any adjustment is needed. I've been very happy with this pharmacy and feel they know what they're doing. I have recommended Bio to friends and some say that their Drs. won't do it. I'm lucky. Sometimes you just have to find another Dr. if that's the route you think you need.
