Hi DepserateLDY, Welcome to this board! There are lots of women going thru the same thing here. I had my bad time last year (lasted 5 mos. for me) but want to stay around to assure women that it does go away after a while. I was also hypothyroid which apparently did not help matters. I know exactly what you are going thru....I too could not work, could not get out of bed and get moving. I ended up getting on Paxil CR mainly b/c I was so desperate to try anything! I also had the burning/tingling feeling. Couple of times, I would be freezing all over--but not in just particular parts of the body. I think it has to do with hot flashes - it's part of it. You must be nearing menopause - I've come to the conclusion that maybe as we (women) approach menopause closer and closer, we get hit big with a whopper before it all settles down. If you feel up to it, find time and read some of the other posts here or go to this other site where there's a lot of other women going thru this - it is powersurge.com.
Is your period starting to be irregular more? How old are you? I can't imagine having symptoms for 6 years! Is there anyone with you at home? Sorry to ask so many questions, but I want you to know that it's OK to "talk" to us here.

I have been going through menopause for 6 years but extremely severe for the last 5 months. I do not take HRT and have had several tests- all coming back negative except hypothyroid (I feel due to the pause). I have quit my job and I can hardly get out of bed. Besides the obvious symptoms, the following are causing me to experience a very poor quality of life.
Burning and tingling all over my body including my feet and head and Ice cold sensations in my back and my female organs.
Has anyone heard of this? |
