What exactly are your leg pains like?? - Menopause Message Board

I am 40 and believe I have many symptoms of perimenopause. At least I hope it is that. Sometimes I think they are something more serious?? I am trying to arrange for ultasounds etc to rule out other things.

Anyway I have this leg pain that I can't get figured out. It seems to start just under my butt. It is a deep ache there and then a sort of weakness down the rest of my thigh.

Has anyone experienced this?? What are your leg pains like??

It sounds like sciatica which is irritation of the sciatic nerve which runs through the buttocks and through the leg into the foot. It is usually a results of lower back problems. Some people get tingling, numbness or weakness in the affected leg.

I have to agree with Mary, it certainly does sound like sciatica. I find I have problems with it when I do get my cycle. It can be a dull, burning, deep ache. I am not sure how you feel about chiropractors but they can really help relieve sciatica nerve pain. I also get leg pains but mine seem to be on the inside of my thighs also a deep dull ache!

Oh do I get the leg pain also. It starts in in the middle of my right butt cheek and down my leg. Before my period it is horrible and the 1st day i feel like i am almost paralized. It is sciatica. But the strange thing is, if i get in my computer chair and pull my legs up so that my feet are in the chair it goes away. It is all about releasing the nerve.
