| Re: Going to Gyno in a few hours
Hi Bell,
Sorry about your gyno checkup! Gez, does this mean when a woman starts having irregular periods, it means fibroids?? Do you not have insurance to cover this stuff? If you don't and you're asking to be tested for peri which means more costs to you, keep in mind that there are no tests that will tell you that you are in "pre" or "peri-menopause". During peri-meno, you just get "symptoms" so all your hormone tests will probably come back normal. This is what happened to me.
The only time you will get some kind of out of normal range test results are when you are in menopause or post-meno. You will know when you're heading that direction - first you have to not have your periods for several months straight...at least 4-6 mos. and then I bet you will see a difference - until then, all your tests will probably be normal. You might want to wait. Mine changed drastically within a 6-month period.
Don't you know many drs. don't know boo about menopause stuff? I found I learned more from these boards and from other women who have gone thru it.
Isn't Melsama a facial skin thing? Why would a gyno give you a script for that? vs. a dermo? Also, check out the Triluma site - you can get a $25 rebate for the med. I find some scripts give rebates, i.e., I get $15 rebate every time I get my allergy eye drops (cost me $20 to fill). IMO, anyway to save a buck helps!
Have a good weekend,
molly
