dizziness - Menopause Message Board

Do many of you suffer from dizziness. I have been more so lately.

Yes! Ever since I have been in peri menopause, I have dizziness off and on..
Sometimes I think it has to do with sinus problems or migraines (which I have more of lately), but sometimes it seems there is no reason, and I dont feel like I have a virus or a cold when I get it...Alot of times it is like off balance, then the dizziness will come sometimes with heart palipitations or hot flashes, it doesnt last really long..Also, sometimes when I turn over in bed very fast, i get spinning vertigo, but it doesnt last either...All my medical tests and bloodwork and blood pressure are normal, so I just attribute it to peri...I have heard alot say that dizziness is a symptom for them..

Oh my that is one symptom that I've experienced for the last 3 years. During that time I've had moments where the spacey/lightheaded/sorta dizzy feeling is gone only to return before the day is out. It has lessen in intensity with the use of bcp, but it's still there. It's the weirdest thing and I'll truly be glad when it stops. My co-worker who is 56 and post menopausal also experiences this spacey feeling when she forgets to change her hormone patch. She said that it's the first symptom to return, so as long as she changes her patch on a regular basis she's spacey-free. Ahhh....what a nice thought.

I too have begun to experience the lightheadedness and dizzy. I will be fine and then all of a sudden a wave of it hits my head. It feels like a whoosh. If any of you have had the misfortune of having panic attacks, it reminds me of the start of a panic attack. Oh I don't know if I can live with this everyday, I have to lie down when it hits me.....How do you guys cope? L

Hi just a quick post from a thyroid sufferer: hypothyroid gets lightheadness, and dizzy, too.
