Hello all.
I just joined so guess I should introduce myself. I am 50 yrs old and have been a member of this menopausal society for two yrs now. The symptoms this past year were too much to handle (I almost quit my job) so I visited my GP and reluctantly agreed to give continuous HRT a try. That was May 8, 2005. At that point I was period free for 9 months. Well the HRT worked within 2 days as far as the menopause symptoms were concerned and I could finally get a good nights sleep.
Now to my area of concern:
Just 2 days ago (Sunday) my period returned!

Nothing heavy or unusual about it but definately a period. I called the doc this a.m. but can't get to see him till next Tuesday. BUT, I immediately stopped the HRT on the Sunday morning that I discovered my period. I understand that because I hadn't hit that magic 1 yr mark that the chances of getting my period again was high and common/normal/to be expected, but I am still not happy about it. I went through 2 yrs of ups and downs to reach the 9 month mark and then in a flash it's all for naught!
Does anyone else have any experience with this?
I would like to know if because I stopped the HRT will my period not return either? I am flying away on vacation the end of July and would really like to have no period or at least know if I should prepare myself.
Thanking you in advance,
BigRedDog
p.s. (I was reluctant of it in the 1st place and have NO INTENTIONS of returning to HRT and will try natural herbal alternatives instead)
