Usually on the Thyroid board, but got these tests taken - I'm clueless!

I've been fighting docs about a thyroid issue and have a new doc that finally gets it. Talked to her about premenopause and she said she was happy to run the tests just to see.

She ran the LH and FSH. I know nothing about them and haven't talked to her yet.

LH 5.1
FSH 3.9

Both I got told need to be evaluated with where you are in your cycle. I was about 11 days out from when I last started. I'm going to post these numbers on the menopause boards too.

I just have no idea what these numbers could mean. Any help???

Seems as though your FSH is low. That would explain the perimenopause. It's kind of hard to diagnose since every lab is different. We would need to see the normal range limits next to your readings. Thanks.
But don't go by test results in perimenopause. They will go up and down. If you are having the symptoms and it's not your thyroid or adrenaline glands, then you have the answer, perimenopause symptoms.

I didn't get the limits because they told me they are different depending on where you are in the cycle. The nurse did mention 1.9-52.3 on the LH, but then said it is 1.9 to something (can't remember) and then that number to 52.3 - all depending on where you were in your cycle.

The call back I got said that the numbers put me in mid cycle and all was ok. If I had any more questions, schedule a appointment. I didn't even get asked WHERE I was in my cycle!

So frustrating.

Oh I know! Keep plugin away, otherwise they will tell you your normal. but really, during perimenopause you can't go by blood tests. It's post menopause or when you hit rock bottom that the tests will be off limits. Follow the signs.

Well, I don't have the real obvious signs. Cycles are still normal and while I run hot a lot of the time, it isn't what I'd think a hot flash is and I don't get the sweats. I do have the insomnia, weight gan, aching/sore joints (at least in the feet), my allergies seem worse, fatigue, change in sex dirve and depression. These are also symptoms of thyroid which is what I've been pursing.
I was told however, that you can run a couple of simple tests to see if you were starting menopause. But I really don't know how any of it works. Why is it that you can't go by blood tests?
