Vaginal Stabbing pains - a new symptom grrr - Menopause Message Board

Just when I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel. Last few days have developed occasional sharp stabbing vaginal pains. Like pin pricks, and not deep inside, more like just inside the opening. It has only happened a few times, but thought I'd ask before getting too concerned about it. My vagina is starting to feel sore, and it can't be from over use hehehhe as I don't have that mood too often these days!!

I am finding intercourse leaves me with a grazed feeling around that area as well. Is an area where I had stitches after the birth of my last child 19 years ago, and over the years has been prone to tenderness.

Anyone else suffering like this at all??

Hi Judenz, sounds like something similar that I encountered a couple of years ago after the periods stopped. Due to lack of estrogen, the vaginal tissues become thinner & drier. May want to have your gynocologist check on it just to be sure. No sense getting as bad as I had it, leading to recurrent yeast infections, and it was also very uncomfortable. Lots of OTC products to help if it is dryness, but good to get it checked out just to make sure. I tried Replens, but didn't have much luck with it.
Always good to get things checked by the dr. just in case it's yeast/BV, etc.
