Feeling Yucky Again!

This whole peri thing is a pain. I have days and weeks where I feel great, and then I hit a wall and feel just plain yucky. Can you all relate?

I've not been feeling too well all week. Maybe it's because school started again this week (I'm a teacher and didn't want to go back just yet) and my anxiety and nervous feelings started to kick in a little bit over this week. I'm waking up in the night and then feeling the anxiety-jittery, butterflies in the stomach, etc.-the same way I felt when I was a competitive runner and waiting at the starting line for a race to begin!

I can be fine one moment, and then all of a sudden, a wave of "weirdness" comes over me-I feel tired, weak, a little nauseated, and sometimes it's accompanied by a hot feeling in my arms and/or neck-a burning feeling. I don't know if this might be a hot flash or not. I also then start to have weird thoughts that I can't really explain-I think this is directly related to the Zoloft I've been taking-it never happened to me before I started the Zoloft.

I am having breakthrough bleeding again on my lowdose bc pills, for the second month in a row, so my doctor wants me to take estrogen for the remainder of the pack to try to stop it. I don't know if the bcp are making me feel unwell, but I'm sick of all of this!

I am thinking that maybe I should stop taking everything and start over again, maybe more naturally this time! I just hate feeling the way I do, unless I'm feeling normal, which I was pretty much for the whole month of August!

Ugh!

Oh, man, can I!!!!! I feel the exact same way. I will be great for days or even weeks, then BOOM! I feel horrible. I have been trying to keep a journal, of sorts, and it seems that I am at my worst about 10 -15 days after the start of my period, so mid-cycle. But that isn't always the case.

All I can say is thank God we have these boards, so we can see that others are going through the same stuff. Don't you think that helps?

Re: Feeling Yucky Again!

Having these boards most definitely helps! If it wasn't for these boards, I would absolutely think something was very wrong with me. What I know from these boards is that SO MANY other women have exactly the same symptoms and conditions-I just wish I had know all about this earlier!

I do try to see if I feel worse at given times of the month-I am mid-cycle right now, but I'm thinking that the fact that I'm having some trouble with the birth control pills right now is not helping my situation. I am keeping a watch on everything, and I'm trying to just tell myself that I'll be fine!

Re: Feeling Yucky Again!

Lorbis, I can definitely relate to one minute feeling somewhat "normal" then out of nowhere I'll feel weird, anxious, jumpy, angry, sad, depressed, spacey...I think you know the rest .

I went through a lot of changes with bcp until I found the right one for me which was Ovcon 35. With Loestrin 28 and Mircette 28 I had break through bleeding, and several other symptoms that I don't recall right now. Currently I'm not taking bcp because of my elevated blood pressure.

When my doctor refused to refill my bcp I felt so panicky, but I'm doing so-so without them despite the many hot flashes/heat waves and a few other symptoms. This is the second day that I've increased my Wellbutrin XL to 300mg and I'm hoping that it will help with many of the symptoms that appeared when I stopped taking bcp.

Like yourself I'm also looking at taking something more natural. At least something to eliminate the sweating and moodiness. I see a different dr. on the 26th who is known to use compounded hormones. We'll see, of course I'm praying for the best.

Re: Feeling Yucky Again!

I guess I may have to change to a different type of bcp. The problem is though, a few months ago, when I took them for only two months (to dissolve an ovarian cyst), I had some breakthrough bleeding the first month, and then I was fine the second month. After that I went off them because the cyst was gone. Now that I'm on them again to try to balance hormones, I'm having trouble with them. Maybe I'll straighten out and all will be normal again!!! Wouldn't it be nice if it were that easy?
