Count Down

It's been 45 days since my last period !!!!!!! I'm hoping that I'm on the road to menopause, especially since my last fsh was 34.5.

The only thing is that I feel like poop. I'll have moments (hours or sometime and entire day) where I feel wonderful, then there are those other days...I've been posting lately about my blood pressure because I'm believing God that my bp will be regulated. Ever since I stopped taking bcp I've been having moments of feeling anxious, wobbly legs, nervous, multiple hot flashes within in a 30 minute period (I rarely had hot flashes when I took bcp), incontinence, multiple trips to the restroom at night, night & day sweats and of course the elevated blood pressure.

I'm on 2 different bp medications, both low dose, but I think that I either need to adjust the dosage or try a different brand. I'm going to the cardiologist in about 30 minutes. Oops, I'm totally off the topic .

Anyone else counting down?

Re: Count Down

HI Hopefully,

Yes I am right there with you "counting down"!! I am on day 76 and this is the first time I have gone this long without my period. The longest stretch I have had was 2 years ago at day 50 and then a couple of times this year near day 40. Mostly mine has been earlier, like in the early to mid 20s. So this is very unusual for me and I , like you I hope I am on the road to menopause too!!

I too can relate to how you feel when you said you have moments or an entire day when you feel wonderful then other days not so wonderful and very low. I do not take birth control pills nor have I since my early 20s for a couple years, but have had feelings during this time of anxiety thru this peri ride, nervousness and feeling wobbly. Never have had hot flashes but last year dealt with night sweats/gastric stuff and high anxiety. The anxiety comes and goes for me and like you said at times I feel great, other times feel the opposite. So it is an on and off thing.

Here's hoping we continue our countdown!!

Take care,

rmc

Re: Count Down

RMC, what are you taking to help with the anxiety, and do you have high blood pressure?

This anxiety thing is no joke. I was so anxious today because of my dr. appt. that my pressure was quite elevated. Before going to the doctor I took my pressure at home and it was good, not low like it was before going into perimenopause, but it was good. I was in high anxiety at the doctor's office that I felt faint. I'm sure that it was from the elevated blood pressure. This doctor seems to be thorough so he's going to monitor my heart, do the stress test, and check my cholesterol.

Anyway, hopefully this time next year we will be celebrating menopause and symptom relief. I know some women still deal with some symptoms, but I'm praying for total relief. Looking at my mother and aunt they seem to be doing quite well after the change.

Re: Count Down

I just wrote last week about the same things-some days I feel great, and other days I just feel yucky. Sometimes, I start a day feeling just splendid, and then all of a sudden, the yuckiness will set in. I get the wobbly leg feeling, the anxiety, etc. What helps is knowing that, unfortunately, you all are going through the same thing-at least this helps me know I'm not nuts or crazy!!

This too shall pass!\\Laurie

Re: Count Down

Hopefully,

I was given xanax to take as needed for anxiety. I took it a bit last year when things were really out of hand. I have also taken it a bit this year but nothing that was routine. Have not taken it in awhile.

No I have never had high blood pressure. I have a friend who has it though and it seems to have elevated in Peri.

I know what you mean about being in high anxiety at the doctors. I am like that too. My annual mammogram and pap are due in Oct and I always get that way for both. So I am not surprised your blood pressure would be elevated in the doctor's office from what it was at home.

My cholesterol has elevated in peri and I really am not doing anything different than I was last year when it was not elevated. So that is why I think it is peri and I have read that it could affect it.

Yes I hope too that we can be celebrating a symptom free menopause next year too at this time. Keep me posted on how you are doing in your countdown and I will do the same. It is always good to know others are going thru the same thing.

I agree with you about your aunt and your mom...I too have relatives who obviously have made it thru this and are doing well so there is hope!!

Take care,

rmc
