Okay, I give up! I am ready to try anything to get this monkey off my back! I can't take the crashing fatigue anymore. I have things to do, places, to go, etc. I am ready to CONSIDER HRT but am confused as to what kind they might put me on. I have had no hyster, everything intact, I have NO LIBIDO, and all the other stuff. I am confused as to the progesterone, estrogen, testosterone information. I just don't want to be given the wrong thing. I think , sometimes, they just throw you on estrogen and that might not be the right thing. Please, give me your views. Thanks a lot and hope you have the energy to gear up for the holidays.

Welcome. You are not alone. You have found a great place to get information.

I have been exactly where you are. I tried everything natural, but still was not doing well. I am now on Premarin and it is working well for me. I don't feel like I need to be admitted to a padded room anymore. They started me on the lowest dose and I had to move up one. It isn't what I want to do forever but for now I just needed to feel better for awhile. Just talk with your Dr. and mention your hesitations. Hope you are feeling better very soon.

Are you talking about synthetic hormones or natural hormone replacement? With natural hormone replacement your doctor has to do a full panel hormone testing to see which hormones are over-producing/under-producing. It does sound confusing but I think one gets the hang of it when you start listening to your body. There are a lot of good books out about natural hormone replacement.

I wouldn't recommend synthetic hormones to anyone. The risks are far too great.

Yes, I feel like, if I could just get a break from the fatigue and accomplish some things...especially w/ the holidays coming up. I am just tired of eeeking by. Do a little, rest a lot....do a little....etc. Did the premarin help your energy level or just your mood? Also, the second post mentioned that she did not recommend synthetic hormones to anyone....re: risks. I know about some of the risks, such as clots..but what else? As if clots aren't enough

Okay....getting some good information and that is what I was counting on. Always know I can get answers for my questions. Just want to make some informed choices. I can always read a lot of material but the best source is to go directly to those who KNOW. That info is what I truly trust and appreciate.

Hi AnnieRoo,

I take Prempro 0.45. I was taking Prempro 0.3, but that was not doing enuf for me. The 0.3 is the lowest amount for this particular drug. It helps me not be nervous or agitated. It helps me not to have hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Now, I do not know about energy. I do not have much of that, because of various other illnesses, so hopefully someone will answer about that in the am.

Take care and try the hormones. You do not have to stay on them forever. Then after Christmas, you can spend more time researching and try something else?!
