Sharp pain in ovary - Menopause Message Board

Hi everyone,

I had my pelvic exam three weeks ago and the doctor said everything was fine. He is very thorough and careful. However, I have had a few sharp pains in my left ovary this last week, and I just finished my period a few days ago. Does this mean I could have gotten a cyst in the last couple of weeks? Does anyone else get this?

I know some cysts dissolve on their own, but with so many different symptoms going on, I'm not sure what is what!

My ovulating schedule is totally off.
Before, I could count on mid-cycle ovulation. These days, I can feel it anywhere from a day BEFORE my period FINISHES to a week before it is to start.

I sometimes wonder if I have a cyst that hasn't resolved until the following cycle.

If the pain lasts longer than 3 months, I'd see a doc...until then, I always wait and see what happens.
That's just me.

i am also having this problem, i seem to be ovulating all month

my gyno said my ovulation is all over the place, this is normal in peri, i also have constant ovulation pain all the time.

Thanks for your replies. Ovulation is pretty off kilter during this journey! It was interesting at my appt. 3 weeks ago for my pelvic exam, because as my doctor was checking everything, he said he could tell that my bladder was full. Doctors really do know where things are and what to look for! Speaking of the bladder, you may have noticed in previous posts that I get up many times during the night to go to the bathroom. Last night I got up five times! I am so exhausted today because of it. I am keeping a journal of what symptoms I experience each day, and how many times I get up at night. He wants me to come back after the holidays, so I hope he can find something that will help with this exhausting symptom!

I'm going to go downstairs now and take my temp., since I just got over a bladder infection...maybe it is still there...?
