Unhappy Peri at 35???? Please help me

Hi everyone
I am kind of new to this board and am so glad I found this board and that it's active
I am 35 yrs old and am also chronically ill.. I've been ill for 15 yrs but through it all my periods were ALWAYS like clockwork until this yr. About 4 yrs ago I started getting GOD aweful PMS and would get real sick each month with my period..I still have this but now this yr I have missed my period COMPLETELY 2 times.. The first time was in July of this yr and now this month.. I was supossed to get it on the 10th and as of today it's no where to be found.. The odd part of this is that I am still just as sick as if I had blood flow only it's not there but I have every other symptom I usually have INCLUDING cramps which really has me freaked out.. My cramps are fairly mild.. Nothing serious....
In my own mind I keep thinking if I had something seriously wrong with me I would have some kind of pretty intense pain etc but I dont and I would also think they would have stopped completely. I missed one in July but then they went right back to being normal and ontime in August all the way through Novemeber..
.. Over the last 3 years my periods have been ontime but always screwed up.. One month they would be so heavy I would feel like I was bleeding to death and other months they were barely there. Some months they last 3-4 days others they last 7-8 days...
But this past July and now this month are the ONLY times in my life I have ever missed a period..and it's really got me freaked out.. Also, there is NO WAY I can be pregnant so its for sure not that. Does this sound like Peri or even Meno? Is it so uncommon for a woman of my age to go through this? Everything I read talks about women in their 40's etc etc...
Thanks for any help you can give me Im prety nervous about this bein the 2nd period I've missed in 4 months and pretty confused as well...

Re: Peri at 35???? Please help me

You sound just like me. But I am 36 yrs. old and my doctor insists that I cannot be in premenopause. So I insisted that I see a gyno. So I am finally going to one in January. I have been having PMS with bad cramps for a week now with no period in sight. It is so frustrating. I hope we both can find some help and relief. God Bless and hopefully someone can give you some information on this site.

Re: Peri at 35???? Please help me

I am 37 and think I've been having symptoms for the past 1-2 years. I've had hot flashes, night sweats (only 2 or 3 times), heart palps, etc. My period has been a little screwy since November last year. I have never missed but had ones like yours...3-4 days and 7-8 days, some months a lot and others not so much. I never know how long they'll last. The age thing...hmmph! I've been to my gyno and he said that some of the symptoms I describe he would see in a woman 10 years older. I went to my GP last month for a bladder problem and he made the comment that "I was too young for menopause". I piped right up and said "Not necessarily" and went on to describe some things I've experienced. My doc has a sense of humor but I think I left him speechless.

When did your Mom go through hers. They say it usually follows. My Mom had a hyst at 44 and I thought I couldn't gauge my experiences with hers, but when I asked her about any symptoms prior to the surgery, the info she gave me had her having hot flashes in her late 30's.

I would see your doctor, but from what I've read on this board, the messed -up cycle is one of the first indications of peri.

We "youngsters" can definitely go through this at our age. I truly believe it. Now....to find a doc who agrees.

I totaly belive you can go through menopause in your late 30's.
I am 39 and had a hyst but my friend was 40 when she went into full force menopause.

Re: Peri at 35???? Please help me

Though starting perimenopause in your 30's is not the normal age, it isn't unheard of. I am seeing more and more women starting peri in the their middle or late thirties. I posted a list of 35 major menopausal symptoms and I believe that if you are experiencing more than 10 of them, you are most likely in perimenopause. This time can take anywhere from 5 to 13 years to go through. You aren't in menopause offically until you have gone without a period or any spotting for 12 months straight. Any bleeding after that time should be told to your doctor.
Welcome to the other side of the rainbow!
