Re: What does a hot flash feel like? This is all new to me.
For me, and I think everyone experiences hot flashes a little differently, they would come on starting in the chest area as a warm sensation, escalating into a rush of heat that moved up to my face, head & neck, & then break into a sweat. Lasts less than a minute, but makes you want to throw your clothes off.
The night sweats, on the other hand, would start for me as soon as I got in bed, laid down, and almost drifted off to sleep, waking me up fully, immediately.
The PMS feeling you have all the time is most certainly part of this.
I guess the best thing to do if you're getting hot flashes is to dress in layers, so you can get cool while the hot flashes are occuring. Keeping cold water to drink, close by, helps a bit too.
There are lots of ladies here who have great advice, so you've found a great place to ask questions. They have all helped me immensely thru this process.
So stick around & Welcome aboard.
