What is happening!!! Now I think I am getting a mustache!! I've been noticing this darker, almost shadowy area above my lip. I saw some fuzz... nothing too extreme, but I could see the darkness.... so I decided to use one of those cream hair removers made for facial hair. I've done it twice in the last month. Right when I do it the area seems super smooth. But for some strange reason I still see that shadowy darkness above my lip.... where is the cry icon? I can't stand this! Has this ever happened to anyone? How do you get rid of facial hair? Is laser permanent and does anyone know how much it costs? Is it even hair because I can't get the shadow to go away... even right after the cream.

PS- I should add... I'm 43 and in peri-HELL for the last year

I don't have that problem but I do have a friend on another board who was commenting on the same thing. She has been going to get her upper lip waxed. She says that although it is painful, it keeps her upper lip area looking normal for about 6 wks.

Edited to add: I think I'm kind of grateful that I'm blonde. No telling how much hair is there that's too fine and light to see.

Why don't you give bleaching cream a try? My girls both have hair above their lips (Italian and Hispanic). They use the bleaching cream. It temporarily lightens the skin too. Then you can see if that dark shadow is still there.

I think the brand is Jolene and you can get it at Walgreens for around $4. Or you can use the Walgreen brand. Both work great.

Thanks you guys... I'll try the bleach first... then if that doesn't work, maybe waxing... then laser

I'm so upset... I feel like I'm falling apart in this damn peri.

I wonder, if maybe I'm about to get a period (I never know when these days... cycle could be 30, could be 45, could be 70, could be 12) .....anyhow the reason being I almost balled at work today at a commercial on TV just because it had a cute puppy in it, and a long time ago I had a puppy that eventually died.... see what I mean?)

I can cry at the drop of a hat too. I now try to control it because my kids just act like I am such a sissy when it happens. It can be so embarrassing.

I did see Felecity Huffman on Oprah yesterday and she had to stop herself from crying when Oprah just started to ask her a question. She said that she was so happy to be on her show that she could cry. I thought to myself, sounds like perimenopause!
