What about this chest tightness that comes and goes? - Menopause Message Board

Hi Everyone,

I get this tightness, high up in my chest and in my neck. It comes and goes more often now. I had en EKG three weeks ago, and my doctor said it was fine, but this tightness moves around, across my chest, and then I get funny, tight feelings right around my heart. He said if I had shortness of breath, he would do a stress test, but I seem to be ok that way. Is this part of the anxiety? It seems that I just can't relax, and the anxiety is off the charts right now!!

Do any of you have this?? HELP!!

Yes, about a year ago I started having panic attacks with heart palps and my heart just racing for hours (mainly at night). Among other symptoms that popped up at the time was chest pain/tightness. It drove me nuts also. I kept thinking something was wrong with my heart. I had tests done with a cardio and checked out okay. I don't experience it as much any more, unless my stress level goes up. Then it will be there all day - very uncomfortable! I'm not sure how to alleviate, but it's definitely a sign of anxiety. I gave up caffeine and take lots of supplements.
