| Re: Natural progesterone and spotting/pain
I thought that one would use progresterone cream during the latter part of your cycle because that's when it normally would drop off and you are helping to replace it so that it stays at a normal level. I'm not sure exactly why it would have affected you in this way and make you spot. Could it be a coincidence?
A couple of years ago I started using an over the counter Progesterone cream. I honestly don't remember how much I used, but I think I took small doses every day (am and pm) except for 7 days at my period. This was in response to peri symptoms of hard cramping, short cycles, PMS and mild insomnia. After 10-12 months, I started having many more HORRIBLE symptoms (which I won't bother to list), and sought the help of a doctor who deals with bio-identical hormones. I had a saliva test and found that I was low in ALL hormones. So the moral of my story is that although my symptoms could have been from being estrogen dominant, they were if fact a result of not having enough estrogen. I think when I used the progesterone cream, it really whacked out my hormones!
Sorry to be long winded, but my suggestion would be that if you are not responding in a positive way to the progesterone, I'd seek help from a Dr.
