Night Sweats

I think I experienced my first night sweat. Ive had 3 hot flushes in the past 2 years but this is different. Periods are still pretty regular, twice Ive had 2 in 1 month. I am at a time in the month where I may be ovulationg, can this bring on night sweats? I awoke at 4am, my fan was oscillating in front of an open window like always, I had a sheet/quilt on me. The back of my neck/hair was sweaty and especially my upper chest. I pulled the covers off and let the fan blow on me, within 15 mins or so I was back to normal. Is this what a night sweat feels like?

Re: Night Sweats

Sounds like night sweats. At least that's what I call them. I wake up at 3 o'clock every morning sweating. Not too bad except right before my periods. About 2 days before my periods I will sweat for 2 days straight. Then start my period then have a migraine for 2 to 3 days. I need to find a new gyno to check out my hormones. I keep thinking this will be over soon, but my sister-in-law went through it for 10years. I'm not ready for that.

Yep! that is night sweats. I have been having them for the last year. I wake up sometimes, every hour with one and kick the covers off and cool down enough to go back to sleep. I only wear cotton nightgowns now and use a fan everynight.
Limiting my caffine, alcohol, and stress have helped my alot.

angelavan,
I have found that being dehydrated can cause migraines sometimes. Since you are having night sweats and your period, you could be deyhydrated. Maybe you should try add some more water to hydrated yourself better. I drink alot of water everyday and don't suffer from migraines like when I was younger.

Re: Night Sweats

MommaBee,
I did not start having migraines untill about 3 years ago. My gyno told me it was from my hormones changing. I had never had one before that. I will try the water. I do try to drink 6 to 8 glasses a day. Maybe if I drink a glass or 2 before I go to bed that might help. I'll be up at 3 o'clocki any way. That will give me something to do while I'm awake.

Re: Night Sweats

I had read about it in a medical magazine. I have shared it with a couple of friends and they are trying it too. One says that it has helped her. Hope it helps you too.

Re: Night Sweats

I don't tend to have many hot flashes but I do get the night sweats. I can really tell the difference between the two. The hot flashes start with a sensation that something is sweeping through my body and upwards. I just wake up with the night sweats and my neck and chest are soaked.

So pleasureful.......NOT
