I am 51 and am in menopause. the fsh was 155. This new thing is very upsetting and would love to know if ANYONE else is doing this. I awake about 3am and it feels like there is a fire in my back, shoulders, neck and head. Can't get back to sleep until it starts to cool down some. Any suggestions??? HELP--Belle
I went through a time where I spent the night switching between being under the covers then on top...hot, cold, hot, cold...sweaty, cold, sweaty, cold. Needless to say I was exhausted the next day. I also had the intense heat that began in my chest or back then radiated upward to my neck, face and down my arms. Thank God that hasn't happened in awhile .
Hey Realbelle, you do not live too far from me. I'm in NW Arkansas.
Anyway, yeah what's up w/ 3 o'clock in the morning. I wake up almost every morning w/ my feet & head burning. I am not in menopause yet, just peri. I'm 44 and have hot flashes almost every night. About 2 days before my 10 day periods I just burn up and sweat. Since it has been so warm lately it's nothing for me to take 3 showers a day. That is about the only thing that seems to help me is take a shower or try to fit in the freezer. -Angela
Thanks so much, Hopefully and Angela--its such a dern scary feeling. I'm sure being scared silly didn't help any! I'm in central okla--so howdy neighbor! Getting in the freezer sounds like a plan to me...I did splash some cold water on my face but it felt like it only made it worse. Thank you both--knowing it does happen makes me feel easier. Belle
