Hello ladies. I'm going through yet another anxiety attack concerning my leg cramps, I've been getting them almost every night for a while. They hurt so bad and I was wondering if anyone else has these and if they are related to hormone fluctuations. I'm also going for some blood work to check a high ANA test I had about eight months ago, I'm terrified it will be higher and that these leg cramps have something to do with that. Someone talk me down from this panic. I also had very bad hives and lip swelling for nine months, thankfully they disappeared three weeks ago.

Hi Mary,
I used to get leg cramps all the time when I was pregnant, and now I've been getting them again the past few years - peri years!! It seems like they may be hormone related. I also get them at night, and sometime I get them during strenuous exercise.
I know it's hard to do in the middle of the night, but if you stand up and put slight pressure on the leg, it really helps. I find that if I can do this, I won't have an achy calf the next day.
Thank you so much for all your responses. I do take calcium tablets every day and I eat a banana a day, still these awful leg cramps come. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Also, drink plenty of water. I'm finding out during the summer months if I don't drink enough water, I'm waking up with cramps in my calves. Painful indeed!
