Your most likely in peri-menopause, as many of us on the board are. Unfortunatly, the blood tests for menopause don't usually show much until you are pretty well into it - such as missing quite a few months (almost a year) of periods.
I'm 48, and was tested last year, normal results, but I have been getting my cycle much closer together for about 18 months now. They were much heavier when this started - now they seem to be getting lighter, but still 21-24 days apart (with an occasional 19).
I get alot of the other symptoms that go along with this also. If you've been checked out by your Dr. and the change in cylce isn't because of any other problems, then I would say, it's probably the peri symptoms. If your feeling really bad, I know that some women get on meds, such as birth control or anti- anxiety. I'm not on anything at this time, but there are days when I feel I should be.
I'm actually going for my yearly exam tomorrow, so who knows.
