Treatment for Edema?

I'm getting edema quite often lately and I have noticed it's worse just before my period. I'm 53 going through menopause. It's in my ankles/lower legs, feet and face mostly. It's also causing significant weight gain. What can I do about this? I have ruled out everything else that may cause edema and am convinced menopause is what's causing it due to my period. I'd appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks
