Sore nipples - Menopause Message Board

I am almost 51 and have gone for 13 months w/out a period. The year before that I had a total of 4. Anyway a couple of weeks ago my nipples became very sore and still are. I also had a discharge for awhile like I used to get when ovulating. Is this common, or do I need a pg test?

hi

i went 7 months without a period and then my nipples got really sore. like they were raw. my breasts were a little swollen and i had scalp acne. about 10 days later i started a period. it may be that you are premenstrual or it could be something else. i would have it checked out. nipple discharge is not a good thing. It is a vaginal discharge. No itching or bad smell. Just the kind I used to get when I ovulated.
