| Anyone taken Provera to regulate cycles
Hi,
My gyn has prescirbed Provera to regulate my cycle, that has been coming early (this last time it was only 13 days) it's usually only 18 days apart, but sometimes I get to 23 or 24.
She said to take it on day 12 of my cycle for 12 days. I'm guessing that while I'm on it, I won't get a period and when I stop I'll get it shortly after, thus getting my cycle to about 28 days or so.
I've been reading up, and there seems to be some side effects, but the info is hard to find on taking provera alone (without estrogen). It seems the side effects are more likely when taking the estrogen with it, but I'm still confused, so here I am seeking info. Even the patient info I got from the pharmacy, states the risks while combining it with estrogen, and not clear on the Provera alone.
I am scheduled to start this weekend, so any input would be appreciated. I'm sure if I call the office to express my concerns, they'll just tell me that the risk are low, out wiegh the benefit etc... so any real life experience would be appreciated.
It would be really nice to be more regular, and not bleed every 2-3 weeks, especially over the summer when we have quite a few activites planned.
