Hi ladies, I`m new here to this nice friendly forum. My apologies if I`m asking an old question - here goes: I`m 45 and suspect the peri has hit me! I hadn`t learnt of the perimenopause before finding the posts here.
Over the past year my hair has become much thinner plus dry skin, my periods are a bit hit and miss, (either very light or massive flooding with clots), the acne I suffered as a teenager has returned with a vengeance and the worst thing is mood swings, anxiety and tiredness.
Do those symptoms sound familiar, I thought I might be a bit young for the menopause, perhaps not ... Any feedback will be very welcome so thank you.
hello mole. well, sounds to me like you're in peri (no, i hadn't heard about it either before reading about it here). you'll get a lot of support, and learn a lot of stuff about it all here, which may just put your mind at rest over some of the less well known symptoms (heart palpitations, anxiety, and yes, acne and thinning hair). there are a number of supplements you can take which may help with some of the things you may get too - calcium, magnesium, fish oil, flax seed oil. boots the chemist do an all-in-one menopause capsule which contains most, if not all, of these.
