Does Prozac Help Peri?

Hi everyone! I started Peri in Jan with crawly skin, insomnia, ears ringing, shaking, anxiety, flushes, weird periods etc. I was taking Lowestrin FE but got a PE (pulmonary embolism) so BCP is out although it was helping some with my periods and symptoms. So now that I am not taking any hormones my doctor is suggesting I up my Prozac since my symptoms are coming back. (I have been on 20mg a day since March). Can any of you give me any feedback on if Prozac at a higher dose or another SSRI has helped these symptoms? I also take .25 of Xanax twice a day and was actually not needing it much until I went off the BCP.

Re: Does Prozac Help Peri?

A friend of mine started Prozac for menopause, and it made a total difference in her life. A good difference! I think she also started at 20mg and now takes 40mg. She hardly ever has to use Xanax.......she's very happy with the results. Good luck to you!
