Terrible headaches and peri - Menopause Message Board

Hi I am 44 and I assuming I am going through perimenopause, I have a period ever other month...and i am cranky , and Have bloating...no hot flashes or night sweats...but I get this really bad headaches and et dizzeness...is there any thing I can take to help this..like maybe progesterone cream....please help

Hi Jayne when I was going thru peri-meno I started getting migraine headaches so bad. I never ever in my life had migraines until then. Many women I worked with all complained of their migraines and of course me never having one, always thought "take a couple advil and settle down" UNTIL I started getting them and sometimes they would last 2 or 3 days. They turned out to be hormonal migraines, I went to my Dr and got on HRT low-dose and I haven't had one since. They always came around the time I should have had a period and didn't and when I did have one. So there is a connection. Talk to your GP about it for some relief.

I never had migraines till peri, I tried HRT and they got worse so it seems like I just have to put up with them at this wonderful time of my life.
