I am 36. I have been having differnt periods and at my ovulation time, it is painful and I spot. I also have night sweats a few days before my period, so bad I have to change my clothes. My mood swings are bad, and my sex drive seems to have gone away. It hurts after sex so much and I am so dry now. I get so tired the day before my period, that I can not stay awake. I will also get a sensation of a sunburn on my face and neck and then heart palpitations. I feel anxious and so out of sorts so much of the time. My hair is differnt, gets oily way too fast and my skin seem to me going through a teenage stage. My joints ache and I get head aches, never had in the past. Could this be perimenopause. My mom went through menopause at 50 and went through peri around 40. I have an aunt who went through menopause at 35 and my grandmother at 50. I understand you can be in peri for 10-15 years?
It sure sounds to me like the descriptions of perimenopause that many of us are describing on this Board. It used to be said that we tend to go through menopause with similar symptoms and at a similar age as our mothers, but I don't think that is true anymore. Many of us have grown up with different diets and environmental experiences than our mothers did.
Hey I am also 36 and going through something strange. My tests indicate i could be peri-menopausal.
2 weeks before my periods i get cranky and aggressive, and recently I have started getting symptoms I dont understand. I get tremors, I palpitate, I am in some kind of overdrive - where i cant switch off and relax. And the embarassing part is i get these goosebumpy sensations especially on my face, tummy sides, arms and legs, and i wonder if others can see it too !!! Theyre not chills or actual goosebumps. More like being excited but without any reason! And they start off without warning.
Even the slightest touch of my clothes can set it off! Its funny when i write this but after a while it gets pretty irritating.
I have several health issues apart from this. Hypothyroid, high prolactin, pms, sleep issues on and off, anxiety, anemia.
Avuntika.....i Have Had The Same Symptoms...plus.....no Fun But It Will Get Better.......good Luck...pammcat
its nice to know im not alone in this!
can u tell me more about your experiences? what did u think was causing this? and how did u overcome it? i am lined up for some tests and i want to make sure we come up with something that makes sense and helps me!
I'm 46 and I stopped having my period over 6 mos ago. My Dr said it is to early for menopause....but I can't think of another reason except perimenopause...my pap and all are normal....so ???? I wonder...no other symptons at all.
