Wondering how these ladies are feeling... - Menopause Message Board

When I first started to post here in 2005, many of the women were going through a lot of suffering similar to mine. I don't get a lot of responses when I post now, but that is ok!! We all go through different phases during this challenging journey. I am wondering, though, how the following ladies are feeling now, three years later...

Molly, Ainfante, Little jmb, Wizard, Nornie, Heavenly, Chilijava, Liverpool Sue, Ann, Lincyclist, and Hellasrules. I know there are others, but if any of you ladies still visit this site, let all of us know how you are feeling. AND...what may have helped you to feel better!!

I have to leave now for a pelvic ulstrasound to see if everything is ok...

i'm still here!
as you can see, i joined in april 2006, and by that time had actually had my last ever period two months previously, although didn't realise it then. i've learned such a lot from reading and posting here, things i didn't know anything about (like the 35 symptoms), and other things i had a little vague knowledge of but have found out a lot more about since being here (like helpful supplements).
i think i was actually just about over the worst of it by the time i reached here, and things have got a lot better for me since. the best thing about being post menopausal is no more pms - looking back, that was awful, the absolute worst thing. i expected heavy, irratic periods, but not the terrible out of control feeling and madness of pms.
i still get occasional hot feelings, but definitaly not hot flashes, far less heat and less frequent. and the brain fog/memory thing is, i think, getting better too. or maybe i just got used to it and don't worry about it any more.
the breast lumps i used to get (about 4 a year) have disappeared too, which the doctor said would happen once the periods stopped.
good news all round for me now. i may still have a hairy chin, but i can live with that.
what about everyone else?

Hi,

I know what you mean about posting and not really seeing alot of responses. Couple years ago I starting posting here and it changed my life, I found out I wasn't alone. It seemed more people posted back then. I did go on a HRT for 2 years, but recently weaned off it. Some of my issues have returned but I am trying to tough it out this time so I have been posting more on the boards again. I have started on a progesterone cream so we will see how that goes. I was going to give you a little update on a couple names you mentioned as they are friends of mine, littlejmb, Nornie, and Molly are doing better. Time has helped them and staying on good vitamins and eating healthy. I am sorry to say that Hellasrules (Faith) passed away Dec. 26th, 07 from Lung Cancer. She will always be missed as she helped me through alot of tough days.

Hello Viktik

I too joined this board in 05 and would not have known what to do without it. Back then I was experiencing everything from buzzing feet to muscle twitching. I remember all the ladies you mentioned on your post.
I got discouraged after awhile posting as I found the ladies I was used to were no longer here and like you said , quite often noone would answer your post. But I do have to say... I still pop on weekly to reassure myself that in this road to peri "I am normal" . I hope you and everyone one else from then is doing well. Take care.

Thanks for starting this post. I have thought about doing it but I didn't know if anyone was still around to answer.

I pop in about once a week to see what is going on.

I am now 4 years post. I didn't start the board until I was 1 year post. That is when all the symptoms came about for me.

I am doing a lot better now. At 2 years, I was really bad. I think that I had every symptom there was and then some.

I am back to walking 4-5 miles a day and have a ton of energy most days.

Every once in a while one of the symptoms will appear but it does not stay like it did. The anxiety remains but for the most part is managable.

I hope that the others check in.
