Hi there...
I'm 50 and have been post menstrual for about 4 or 5 years. Thought I'd skated through menopause without a hitch. Never had hot flashes.
Just in the last month I have had two episodes that I initially thought was a systemic allergic reaction, but wonder if it could be a hot flash.
It started out with my skin itching so badly I could hardly stand it. Then it started to burn, and then I noticed that I was red all over (from head to toe)...as my daughter said "like you've got a bad sunburn". It felt like my skin was 2 sizes too small, and simply wanted to rip the clothing from my body (which I was able to do, cause I was at home...

) My legs, arms, hands, face, ears, torso, and everything else that I'm not thinking of, started to itch and burn. It subsided for the most part in about an hour, but I was wiped out for longer a few hours.
After 2 weeks, I had another of the same, this time, trying to think of it in terms of a hot flash. The thing that I question is if anyone has had severe itching that accompanied a hot flash.
Has anyone out there had this kind of an experience with a hot flash, or know of anyone else that has?
Smiles,
Sandy
