Had a laparascopic Supracervical Hysterectomy in March 2007 which only removes uterus due to endometriosis. I'm having breast swelling, irritability, anxiety/depression, weight gain...... But the hormone tests are fine.

hormone tests can be very unreliable if you are in perimenopause, as hormone levels change from hour to hour during this phase. you don't say how old you are but if everything adds up (your age, symptoms) then it could be the beginning of peri.

Hi sunshine8790,

I had a hysterectomy when I was 35 (I am now 45) also for endometriosis and they left my ovaries. I hope that took care of any pain you were having, for me it did not. I did more research and found by giving up sugar and white flour it took all the pain away, and I lost 75 pounds as a benefit. But I can not go back to sugar. It didn't take long to discover my ovaries were not working like they should be so starting trying some natural stuff (and there is lots to try.) But one thing I really recommend is a fish, flax and borage pill (I take 2-3 a day) for the anxiety/depression and sleeping issues. It really helped me get through those. I still take them and will not be without them. Hope this helps.

Hi Julie,

Can you tell me where you get the fish, flax and borage pill (all in one or separate pills?) from? I'm having some REALLY strange feelings in the menopause, as well as depression/anxiety, somehow feeling like I'm "not there", in a different world from everyone else and half baked!

What an experience a bad menopause is and how annoying when you speak to women who say they sailed through! Mind you, there's lots who are like me too, so at least I know it's down to my hormones being all over the place, which is a slight comfort!!
