Is this a symptom? - Menopause Message Board

Hey everyone. I'm 39 with 4 children. My mother and sister both started menopause at this age. For the past 10 months I've had no sex drive at all!! It's driving my crazy. I went to doctors and all they came up with is "stress" I can't go by missed periods because I'm on the depo shot, I don't get them. I smoke so thats the only choice of birth control I have. I have experienced some hot flashes in the past, but thought them to be related to anxiety. Any suggestions?

I've been doing some thinking, and I have been grumpy, and the last time I had sex, I noticed I'm not as lubricated as I use to be. I'm going to the doctors to get tested to make sure. What I don't understand is, when I do have sex, afterwords I feel great. you would think that would want you to want more!! I guess I'll just have to wait and get tested at the doctors to make sure. Thank you for responding and I'll let you know how I make out!! ( no pun intented!) ha!ha! yes, I'm in a good mood right now! I had a rare moment last night!!!!!!!!!

Hi Rheanna, thank you for replying. I stopped and thought about it and my symtoms are no sex drive, dry vagina, dry lips(which I find weird) grumpy, cramps. But get this one!! The last 3 days I turned into a sex maniac!!! What is going on? I also started taking my migraine medication-Fioricet. It's strange, but when I'm taken it, I feel normal!!! If I tell a doctor that, they'll think I'm crazy, but it's true! or they'll think I'm addicted. When I don't take it, I'm back feeling like ***t! What do you think?

Hi Rheanna, I agree, if it works, I'm staying with it. I also thought about something else, I've been slacking on my ad medication- Depakote. The more its out of my system, I feel a little better. I'm going to try not taken it and see what happens. Now if I can find a doctor to give me enough fioricet to last every month!

I think my menopause systems are mild because I'm on the Depo shot. I'm glad I can stay on it!! If I smoke, can I get hormone treatments if I need it in the future? I can't take any other birth control except Depo because of my age-39 and I smoke. I have too much stress to even think about quiting! Thanks again and hopefully I'll hear back!!
