Mood changes

Hi Everyone,

When I first hit perimenopause my moods were the worst they
had ever been, and unfortunately that went on for quite a few
years.Now that I am practically into menopause(almost 10 months
since last period)my moods have improved drastically for the better.
I feel better now than I think I have ever felt before in my life.
I know the mood changes can be part of menopause, but, has anyone
elses moods changed for the better.I am not on any HRT either.
Thanks for any info.

Re: Mood changes

hello sherri. yes, i found exactly the same as you. i'll be 3 years without a period next month, so completely through it and it's one of the best aspects of the whole thing. my whole family have commented on my lack of mood swings and general grumpiness over the last couple of years, i'm far more on an even keel, more rational, and just like you i feel better than i can remember feeling for a very long time.
so there are some upsides to menopause

Re: Mood changes

Hi Sue,

Yes,my whole family says it is now(finally)a joy to be around
me.I laugh alot more and have actually made my family laugh
a few times myself,I love it.I am glad to know now that this
can also happen to others,I wasn't sure if it was just a coincidence
or what.I have never been on HRT either, luckily no hot flashes just cold flashes,my sister is just starting into perimenopause and has hot flashes terribly. Thanks for replying
